This route is via Interstate 40 West: Take exit 279 to N.C. State Route 147, Durham Freeway. Continue on Durham Freeway and take Exit 14, Swift Avenue. Turn LEFT onto Swift Avenue. Turn right on Campus Drive. Follow directional signs to available parking.

From Chapel Hill and the South:
This route is via Chapel Hill Boulevard, US. 15-501 North. In Durham, take U.S. 15-501 North, marked Duke University/Medical Center. (Do not take 15-501 Business.) Continue on 15-501 and take Exit 108B? to the Durham Freeway, NC State Route 147 South. Continue on the Durham Freeway and take Exit 14, Swift Avenue. Turn RIGHT onto Swift Avenue. Turn right on Campus Drive. Follow directional signs to available parking.

From Virginia and the North:
This route is via Interstate 85 South: In Durham, take Exit 174A for US 15-501 South Bypass - Duke University/Chapel Hill. Continue on U.S. 15-501 and take Exit 108B, to the Durham Freeway, NC State Route 147 South. Continue on the Durham Freeway and take Exit 14, Swift Avenue. Turn RIGHT onto Swift Avenue. Turn right on Campus Drive. Follow directional signs to available parking.

From the Triad and the West:
This route is via Interstate 85 North: In Durham, take Exit 172, N.C. State Route 147, Durham Freeway. Continue on Durham Freeway and take Exit 14, Swift Avenue. Turn RIGHT onto Swift Avenue. Continue for about one half mile to Duke University Road. Turn RIGHT onto Swift Avenue. Turn right on Campus Drive. Follow directional signs to available parking.

Important Information

Reserve or purchase tickets in advance. "El Greco to Velázquez" tickets will sell out quickly.

To protect the works of art and for the safety of our visitors, strollers, baby carriers, backpacks, oversized bags, umbrellas and other bulky items are not permitted in the galleries. A stroller storage area will be provided and a limited number of lockers will be available to store bulky items.

Wheelchairs and walkers are permitted.

Tickets are subject to availability. Admittance to all programs is on a space-available basis.

Visit the exhibition after 12 p.m. to avoid K-12 school tours.

Parking

Parking is included in the admission fee to the exhibition. We strongly encourage all visitors to use the special driving directions on this website to travel to the museum. Directional signage will be placed near the approach to Campus Drive off of Swift Avenue to help you locate the closest available parking.

During the exhibition, the Nasher Museum offers two shopping venues: the Nasher Museum Store, located in the Mary D.B.T. Semans Great Hall, and the "El Greco to Velázquez" exhibition store, located in the Brenda La Grange Johnson and Heather Johnson Sargent Pavilion. Tours

Antenna Audio tours are available in English and Spanish for $3. The audio guide covers 20 artworks and lasts approximately one hour. Download the audio guide to a personal MP3 player. The museum is not able to offer guided tours due to volume, but docents will give scheduled live presentations in the Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger Family Lecture Hall. A 30-minute documentary by UNC-TV and other short films and audiovisual presentations will screen in the lecture hall.

Documentary
