K-12 Teachers & Students

The Nasher Museum serves more than 11,000 public school children each year with free tours and programs. Our education staff also supports public school teachers through free workshops for continuing education credit and other activities to help infuse the school day with more art. Free Family Day events draw visitors with live entertainment, hands-on crafts and gallery hunts inspired by exhibitions. Other programs are included in general admission: Tour with Your Tot (guided tours for parents and small children), Nasher Creates (hands-on activities on Tuesday mornings with a local artist) and Sketching in the Galleries with a local artist (the third Saturday of each month). Museum educators and curators also gave a series of public talks, Art with the Experts, at Durham County Library branches.
