Christian Marclay was born in San Rafael, California, in 1955, raised in Geneva, and currently lives and works in New York and London. He studied at the Ecole Supérieure d'Art Visuel in Geneva and earned his B.F.A. from the Massachusetts College of Art in 1980. Marclay has recorded and performed music since 1979.
