Laurie Anderson was born in Chicago in 1947 and currently lives and works in New York. In 1969 she earned a B.A. from Barnard College and an M.F.A. from Columbia University in 1972. Anderson held the first artist residency at NASA, which culminated in her performance The End of the Moon (2004).
